This organic Genmai brown rice green tea uses award-winning Koshihikari rice blended with matcha. In fact, the brown rice is lightly roasted in high pressure with the sencha green tea leaves. Due to the roasting process, this genmaicha has a rich rice aroma and mellow taste with a smooth, lingering sweetness.

Genmaicha Matcha Yume is made with Sencha green tea and Japanese rice that has been soaked in water and then deeply roasted to create toasted rice. Often, some rice pops open during the roasting process, hence the white pieces in the tea that look similar to popcorn.

Genmaicha Brewing Instructions

  1. Heat fresh, filtered water until boiled.
  2. Pour water into cups to warm the cup and cool down the water. You can also use a yuzamashi water cooler.
  3. Pour water over tea leaves. Recommended water temperature for this Sencha Genmaicha is 180°F (82°C). Try different brew times and temperatures to find your preference.
  4. Steep for 1-1.5 minutes. All of our teas can be steeped up to 3 times.

Surprising. The Genmaicha Tea I just ordered, first time with this one was surprising. Typically, I am not a green tea fan because I love bold, full taste in my teas Genmaicha is bold, smooth, and quietly exotic, it wraps you in awe. This one changed my mind and I am making pots of it for the family it’s a new favorite, especially with temperatures cooling into the Fall 🙂
