Description

Suzu Genmai is a blend of roasted brown rice green tea with matcha from Kyoto. This fragrant genmaicha has a toasty aroma and a refreshing taste with a hint of sweetness from the rice.

Suzu Genmai is made with sencha green tea and Japanese rice that has been soaked in water and then deeply roasted to create toasted rice. Often, some rice pop open during the roasting process, hence the white pieces in the tea that look similar to popcorn.

Genmaicha Steeping Instructions

  1. Heat fresh, filtered water until boiled.
  2. Pour water in cups to warm the cup and cool down the water. You can also use a yuzamashi water cooler. Recommended water temperature for this Sencha Genmaicha is 180°F (82°C). Try different brew times and temperatures to find your preference.
  3. Pour water over tea leaves.
  4. Steep for 1-1.5 minutes. This tea can be steeped up to 3 times.

Wonderfully unique tea genmaicha. I usually don’t care for green tea because it has little flavor, but this one is toasty goodness
