This Tea Canister, or chazutsu, is handmade from the bark of cherry blossom trees. It’s made only with bark selected from the trees that endured strong winds and snow. The artisans use eco-friendly traditional methods to gather the bark, ensuring that the wood will grow back even after harvesting. Sheets of cherry bark are wrapped around a wooden mold, and then ironed together with a heated metal trowel. As a result, this produces an air tight and light, yet firm tea canister. 

The cherry wood of this tea canister absorbs moisture, fights bacterial growth, and keeps your tea fresh. Storing tea leaves in them will maintain the appropriate humidity level. The wood is lightweight but durable, a perfect tea canister for holding your favorite premium tea leaves.

• To clean, gently wipe with a wet cloth
• Avoid peeling by keeping away from water and do not leave in highly humid conditions for an extended time
• Prevent distortion, cracks and color deterioration by avoiding direct sunlight
• Do not leave in hot or cold water
• Not dishwasher friendly
