Description

Aiji Sobacha buckwheat tea is made of roasted buckwheat kernels. This herbal tea has a toasty aroma and nutty, sweet flavor which can be enjoyed hot or cold. In Japan, sobacha is popular due to it’s impressive health benefits, such as regulating blood sugar levels and promoting good digestion.

Sobacha is 100% caffeine-free, an excellent tea for drinking daily and at any time. Our sobacha comes from Hokkaido, a prefecture known for maintaining top agricultural standards. Generally, this tea brews a golden yellow. After drinking, you can also eat the kernels.

Sobacha Steeping Instructions

  1. Heat fresh, filtered water until boiled. Let cool very slightly — water close to 203°F (95°C) is ideal for bringing out the fragrance and flavor in Sobacha.
  2. Pour water over the sobacha.
  3. Steep for 3-5 minutes. This tea can be steeped up to 2 times and you can eat the kernels afterwards.

For iced sobacha, simply pour hot water close to 203°F (95°C) over the sobacha and steep in the fridge for 1 hour.

Origin: Hokkaido, Japan
