Description

Sobacha buckwheat tea is made of organic roasted buckwheat. This herbal tea has a toasty aroma and nutty, sweet flavor which can be enjoyed hot or cold. In Japan, Sobacha is popular due to its impressive health benefits, such as regulating blood sugar levels and promoting good digestion. Since this is made from dattan soba 韃靼蕎麦, this Sobacha contains 100 times the amount of rutin compared to common buckwheat.

Sobacha is 100% caffeine-free, an excellent tea for drinking daily and at any time. Our Sobacha comes from Hokkaido, a prefecture known for maintaining top agricultural standards. Generally, this tea brews a golden yellow. After drinking, you can also eat the kernels or add them as a topping to your salads, rice, and desserts.

Sobacha Hot Brew Instructions

  1. Heat fresh, filtered water until boiled. Let cool very slightly — water close to 203°F (95°C) is ideal for bringing out the fragrance and flavor in Sobacha.
  2. Pour water over the sobacha.
  3. Steep for 3-5 minutes. This tea can be steeped up to 2 times and you can eat the kernels afterward.

Sobacha Cold Brew Instructions

For iced Sobacha, simply pour hot water close to 203°F (95°C) over the Sobacha and steep in the fridge for 1 hour. Iced Sobacha lasts in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Origin: Hokkaido, Japan

Like most of us on this site, I love tea. I like experimenting with new flavors and blends. I especially enjoy when something new surprises me with how good it is. This is a tea that does that.

I can’t have caffeine in the evening, so this sobacha was the perfect solution for me. It cuts down my food cravings with its full, bread like taste.

This is one of my favorite teas at Senbird. It has an appealingly roasty aroma and rich flavor that make it a perfect year-round beverage. I have brewed it and chilled it to drink cold during the summer over ice, and love it the rest of the year steaming hot in late afternoon and evening. When you open the package, you’ll notice immediately the appealingly toasty smell of the buckwheat. I’ve purchased sobacha from other sellers, but Harney & Sons has the very best.

I was previously drinking a different sobacha, that had very little flavor. Senbird’s sobacha is robust and full. I love it. A deeply satisfying tea.

I LOVE this sobacha. It’s earthly and seriously amazing to have with dinner, particularly rice-based dishes in my experience. So tasty, one of our essentials!

This tea is fabulous! When brewing, the aroma from the cup while brewing is enticing. This soba is completely different and a lovely difference to green traditional teas. Highly recommended.

This buckwheat soba tea flavor and aroma is incredible! A little goes a long way so you don’t need too much of it. I use a little less than the recommended teaspoon per cup of tea. Would definitely buy again.

The sobacha is the preferred nighttime tea as the aroma and taste really comforts and soothes my body.

If you’ve ever eaten buckwheat noodles, you may be familiar with its strong, nutty and savory flavor. This tea has that flavor. It lends itself well to giving a sense of warmth and benefits from its flavor profile by being able to be paired with a salty or sweet taste. This tea is also perfect on its own, so you won’t feel obligated to pair it with anything.

I really enjoyed the Soba tea! It has a nutty flavor that reminds me of the tea that I had in a soba restaurant. A wonderful alternative flavor, with no caffeine!

Nutty and delicious. This buckwheat tea has a wonderful aroma and more reminiscent of a meal than a beverage. Great flavor!

Simply good. This soba tea has rich aroma and a grain like flavor. It is reminiscent of coffee, but lighter and without the bitterness or acidity.

I’m a big Japanese Green Tea and Black Tea person but I absolutely love this tea. It is quite nutty. I come home after a long day and had a cup everyday. Its quite refreshing and is an instant mood lifter. I will try one of the previous comments’ suggestion and have a cup after dinner.

One of my favorite drinks all year. It’s best hot but is also great chilled. I usually drink it with or after a meal. The nutty flavor is delicious, you can brew it multiple times and even eat the soba afterwards. I usually use it as a topping on vanilla ice cream.

I’ve always like soba tea but this Soba tea is fantastic!! The moment I poured water into the cup with this tea, the fragrance of perfectly roasted soba filled the room. A lot of other soba tea I had taste good but don’t have much scent, but the smell of this soba tea put an instant smile on my face and make me want to drink it all day long.
