At a Glance
Moriki is a traditional deep-steamed sencha from Shizuoka, Japan’s renowned region for fukamushicha. Steamed for 120 seconds—much longer than typical sencha—this careful process creates finer, smaller tea leaves and a deep, vibrant green brew with a natural sweetness and rich umami.
The name Moriki (森木), meaning “forest spirit,” reflects the tea’s deep, grounding character. With notes of savory umami, sweet grass, and a full-bodied, smooth finish, each sip feels vivid, nurturing, and quietly energizing. Naturally high in antioxidants and moderate in caffeine, Moriki is perfect for daily tea rituals or a mindful midday reset.

HOW TO BREW SENCHA
1 | Heat fresh, filtered water until boiled.
2 | Pour water into cups to warm the cup and cool down the water. You can also use a yuzamashi water cooler.
Recommended water temperature for Sencha is 176°F (80°C). The flavor will be lighter and sweeter when brewed at lower water temperatures such as 158°F (70°C). Try different brew times and temperatures to find your preference.
3 | When it reaches your desired temperature, pour water over the tea leaves. Steep for 1-1.5 minutes. This tea can be steeped up to 3 times.
Good and very fresh!
Light and slightly sweet! Nice to mix up my afternoons when I need a boost. The leaves are a little messy to clean compared to my other loose leafs, but totally worth the experience.
I’m not a tea expert, but this tea is nice and refreshing.
Loved it. I have been trying different senchas to see what is out there and this is a great one! I had a bad experience somewhere else recently but this one reminded me of what I liked about sencha.
