Sumo Stew is an event where sumo fans come together to watch live stream of sumo matches as everyone eats bowls of chankonabe—the “sumo stew” wrestlers eat before matches. The event features delicious Japanese food such as chicken chankonabe, bento boxes, mochi ice cream, and fine drinks from Sakeman, Nikka Whiskey, and Senbird tea.
At the 23rd event, we partnered with Trish Rosseine of Williamsburg Hotel to concoct a creative and unique cocktail using Senbird’s Ouka Sencha Green Tea and Nikka’s whiskey to create a Green Tea Whiskey Cocktail with Ginseng. This tasty punch is vibrant with lemon soaked in green tea for over 24 hours and a bit of chardonnay vinegar. The added ginseng works with the green tea to create a refreshing and energy-boosting cocktail. Try out the recipe below!
